The Monkey And The Crocodile Story
Once upon a time, there was an intelligent monkey who lived near the Ganges River. The crocodile and his wife lived in the same river. One day the crocodile’s wife got very sick and wanted to eat something special. She asked her husband to get her a monkey heart.
The crocodile didn’t know what to do. Then he thought of his neighbor, the monkey. He said, “Monkey friend, why are you wasting your time eating the fruit of this tree?
There are juicy fruits on the other side of the river.” When the Monkey said that the river was too big for him to cross, the Crocodile offered to take him on his back.
After some time, the crocodile drowned in the water along with the monkey. He told the monkey that his wife was sick and wanted his heart. The monkey realized that she had acted stupidly, trusting the crocodile. He quickly came up with a cunning escape plan.
He said: “Alas, friend! Our hearts are not within us. We must keep them hanging from trees. Too bad you didn’t tell me earlier. Let’s go back and bring my heart.” The crocodile believed the monkey and brought it back to the tree.
The monkey immediately climbed up the tree and ran away. He said to the crocodile: “You have a big body, but no brains!” The crocodile had no choice but to repent of his stupidity when he was deceived by a monkey.
