Bluebeard Story
Once upon a time there was a very rich man who lived in a very beautiful house. He had such a brilliant blue beard that everyone who knew him called him Bluebeard. Probably because of his unusual beard, this man was so popular that he had been married several times.
However, it turned out that each of his wives had mysteriously disappeared and no one knew what had happened. Near Bluebeard’s house lived a poor widow who had four children, two sons and two daughters.
Bluebeard wanted to marry one of them. Both didn’t want to marry his as they knew about the incident. Due to his polite way of speaking, they were both impressed. Bluebeard invited them and their family to come and live in his mansion for a week so he could get to know them better. At the end of the week, he married the eldest daughter of them.
After a month of their marriage, he told his wife that he was going on a business trip for a few weeks. “While I’m gone, invite your family. Here are the keys to all the rooms. You can use all keys to unlock all rooms except the small key! “, did he declare. This door was not allowed to be opened by anyone and he left.
Everyone came to the mansion and had a wonderful time. His wife was very curious about this door. After a week, she could no longer control herself and opened the forbidden door. She couldn’t believe her eyes. Inside the room, she saw all of Bluebeard’s women who had turned into stone statues. She stood there in shock then slamming the door behind her, she ran into her room shaking and shaking. She looked at the small key in her hand.
The key had a small bloodstain on it. She was sure the stain hadn’t been there before. She tried every way to clean the key, with the handkerchief, she tried to wash it with soap, to polish it, but nothing worked. She realized that it was a magic key and that Bluebeard would come to know everything. Bluebeard came just after two days and asked for the keys.
She returned the key hesitantly. “What is this stain that I see? You opened the door! Now you too will become the stone. The poor girl started crying and begged Bluebeard to reconsider. But he wouldn’t change his mind.
“Please give me some time to prepare,” she pleaded. “You have less than an hour!” he has answered. She wanted to increase the time because her brothers, who were the soldiers, were about to reach the mansion. Unfortunately, time passed far too quickly and he began to cast the magic spell that would turn his wife to stone.
She fell to her knees and began to scream loudly. Just then, her two brothers burst into the room. They grabbed Bluebeard, tied him up, and he was taken to prison, never to be seen again. The beautiful girl therefore inherited all of Bluebeard’s fortune.
After a year, she married a handsome boy. This time she was married to a good and honest man who helped her forget this terrible adventure. She lived happily ever after.
